The Virginia National Guard may provide limited support when the activity stimulates patriotism, promotes public understanding of the problems of national security, or fosters public appreciation of our national heritage.


Vehicle and Equipment Static Display

Military vehicles and equipment are available for static display from the Virginai Army National Guard’s inventory. Virginia Air National Guard static display aircraft are also available for largely attended air shows. Tanks and tread-bearing equipment are not available for static display.

Event organizers should be aware that static display requests are subject to a number of restrictions and can only be supported only when they do not impact operational mission accomplishment.

Recruiting Display

Virginia Army National Guard Recruiting is also available for static displays. We have available The Virginia Army National Guard’s Recruiting HMMWV, “Rolling Thunder,” a rock climbing wall and several inflatable games such as a football toss. All of these are fun for everyone as well as a great opportunity for people to talk with our recruiters and find out about opportunities available in the Virgnia Army National Guard. The availability of recruiting displays is limited.

Submitting Your Request

Requests for Virginia National Guard support and the thoroughly completed DD Form 2536 should be submitted directly to the Virginia National Guard via e-mail to ngva.pao@mail.mil.

In order to request a static display, you must thoroughly complete a DD Form 2536. You must have the form:

  • completed and signed by the sponsoring organization
  • ensure that you include which type or types of vehicles you are requesting
  • certified and signed by the event site owner
  • submit the form

Requests should be completed, signed and submitted no less than 90 days in advance of the event. Incomplete forms and requests will not be considered. The Virginia National Guard Public Affairs Office determines whether the event is eligible for support.
