Youth Program accepting State Teen Panel applications through Oct. 31

RICHMOND, Va. — The Virginia National Guard Youth Program is accepting applications for the State Teen Panel now through Oct. 31, 2018. The State Teen Panel is a statutory volunteer group of National Guard Teens, age 13-17 years old, from across the state of Virginia, who work with the State Child and Youth Coordinators in support of the youth and teens of the Virginia National Guard.

The Teen Panel participates in project planning, the promotion of the Youth Program mission, and in activities that strengthen their leadership and communication skills. Throughout the year, STP members volunteer at deployment events, community projects, and key program events, such as the annual Virginia National Guard Youth Camp.

In addition, teens will work together to discuss the different issues that face National Guard youth in Virginia and report their strategies to the National Teen Panel.

In order to be eligible, teens must be a rising 9th-12th grader, a dependent of a current Virginia National Guard service member, actively involved with Virginia National Guard Youth Program, and must complete the application and all requirements.
