Joint military and law enforcement diversity recruiting event held in Lynchburg

 

FORT PICKETT, Va. — The Virginia National Guard, the Virginia State Police and the Lynchburg Police Department hosted a joint diversity recruiting event July 21, 2018, in Lynchburg, Virginia. The event was open to anyone interested in a future career in the military or law enforcement, and attendees learned about a possible joint career in both law enforcement and the National Guard.

The event featured vehicle and equipment displays from each organization. Currently serving Virginia National Guard Soldiers, Virginia State Police troopers and Lynchburg Police officers were on hand to explain employment benefits, answer questions and share their professional experiences serving their communities, commonwealth and country.

In addition to uniformed service opportunities in law enforcement, civilian dispatchers from the Virginia State Police and Lynchburg Police Department were on hand to discuss civilian careers in law enforcement.
