Virginia Air Guard member receives Air Force Commendation Medal

Master Sgt. Michael V. Kurzdorfer, a communication specialist from the 192nd Fighter Wing, is awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal (Third Oak Leaf Cluster), May 19, 2013. While on his way home from work, Kurzdorfer distinguished himself with an act of courage when he responded to a major automobile accident and sustained the life of a 36 year old resident from northern Virginia until emergency responders arrived.
